This Privacy Policy explains how Featured ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use befeatured.app (the "Platform"). Featured is currently operated as Leif De Boni & Eric Schroter, based in Zürich, Switzerland.

1. What data we collect
Account & profile data
- Name, email address, password (hashed)
- Profile details you provide: role, genre(s), city, DAW, gender (optional), bio, social links (SoundCloud, Spotify, YouTube)
- Profile picture and uploaded audio tracks/files
Collaboration data
- Messages sent within chats and project rooms
- Files uploaded to Studio project rooms (audio files, versions)
- Timestamped comments, deadlines, project titles, and collaboration status (e.g. turn indicator, "ready to publish" status)
Technical & usage data
- Log data (IP address, browser type, device information)
- Usage analytics (pages visited, features used, session activity) via PostHog, hosted in the EU
- Cookies / local storage necessary for the Platform to function
Communications
- If you contact us directly (e.g. support requests), we store that correspondence
We do not knowingly collect special categories of sensitive personal data beyond what you voluntarily choose to share in your profile (e.g. optional gender field).

3. Who we share data with (processors & third parties)
We use the following third-party service providers to operate Featured. Each processes data on our behalf under their own data processing terms:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
- Resend — transactional email delivery (notifications)
- PostHog (EU-hosted) — product usage analytics
- Cloudflare — domain, DNS, and content delivery/security
- Lovable — our application development platform (may process data as part of hosting/build infrastructure)
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Other users of Featured can see the profile information and content you choose to make public (e.g. your profile, uploaded tracks, Open Project listings). Messages and files within a collaboration are only visible to you and your collaboration partner.
4. International data transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside Switzerland/the EU (e.g. in the United States). Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms required under Swiss/EU data protection law.
5. Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain data for legal or accounting purposes.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

7. Cookies
We use essential cookies/local storage required for login and core functionality, and analytics cookies (via PostHog) to understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
8. Children's privacy
Featured is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage and access controls via our infrastructure providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a notice on the Platform. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
